It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Louis Onyango Okech, our esteemed Group Reservations Manager, who passed away on 28th September 2025. Louis joined Elewana 27 years ago as the company’s very first recruit in Tanzania and went on to become one of its most respected leaders.

Louis was known for his consummate professionalism, kindness, and humility. To our trade partners, he was a trusted bridge - always responsive, dependable, and genuinely caring. His work touched every corner of our organisation, mentoring countless colleagues and ensuring every guest experience reflected Elewana’s values.

In honour of his legacy, Elewana has established the Louis Onyango Okech Memorial Scholarship Fund, dedicated to supporting young hospitality professionals who embody his spirit of excellence and compassion.
