On June 27th, Loisaba Conservancy celebrated the official opening of the Chui Mama Centre, a major milestone for women-led enterprise at Loisaba. Over 1,500 people gathered for the vibrant launch, including community members, local leaders, and conservation partners. The Centre is already fulfilling its vision as a space for women to gather, train, innovate, and build sustainable businesses rooted in conservation values.
The facility includes training and production areas, a demonstration farm, a conference hall, and retail space for showcasing local products. It is fast becoming a hub for practical skills development, cultural heritage, and connection, linking local producers with conservation and tourism networks.
With strong foundations and an active membership, it is well-positioned to serve as a model for resilience and stewardship across northern Kenya.
