Night Game Drive

Often taken just after dusk, a night game drive at Tarangire Treetops is a rare opportunity to see how the bush ‘comes alive’ after dark. Driving with an experienced and qualified Elewana guide, this 1.5-hour drive around the environs of Treetops provides an insight into the nocturnal wildlife that is often overlooked or not accessible to visitors who stay within the confines of the national parks. With a keen eye and unbroken concentration, there is much to see and wonder at on a Treetops night game drive.

Walking Safari

There is no better way to up close and personal to the wild than to take a walking safari. Feels the ancient earth beneath every step you take as you tread on the tracks of animals that have walked the same path minutes before. In the company of an experienced guide, learn about the flora as well as the fauna, and begin to understand the true majesty of the indigenous peoples that live and thrive on the land.

Day Game Drive

Tarangire is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. The park is famous for its huge number of elephants, baobab trees  and tree climbing lions. Visitors to the park can expect to see any number of resident zebra and wildebeest in addition to the less common animals. Other common animals include waterbuck, giraffe, and olive baboons.
Home to more than 550 species, the park is a haven for bird enthusiasts who can expect so see dozens of species even in the dry season. The swamps are the focus of the largest selection of breeding birds anywhere in the world. Yellow-collared Lovebirds are a common bird sighting in the trees along the Tarangire River.

Masai Village Tour

The Maasai Village is about 20-30 minutes drive from Treetops and gives a perfect insight to the life of the Maasai. This village with its varying age of inhabitants are very warm and friendly and eager to meet guests from Treetops.

Boma Dinner & Masai Dancers – Sample the delights of eating under the stars in a traditional Maasai Boma whilst enjoying the dancing and singing of Maasai menfolk. Flavours of the bush as well as international cuisine if all available in this alfresco dining experience, all of which is done by lantern light and the glowing embers of a large bonfire.

Bush Dinner

After a day of game viewing and driving through the famed Tarangire National Park, there is no better way to enjoy the end of another day in the African bush than to enjoy a delicious four-course meal under a canopy of twinkling stars. You will be guided to your bush dinner on foot. On arrival you will be greeted by our Chef, and offered a welcome aperitif whilst deciding on the dining options for your bush dining experience. By the light of the flickering embers of a wood fire, sit back and relax and soak up the final minutes of what will have been yet another day of wonderment and memories.

Sun Downer Cocktails

Experience the drama and beauty of Africa in one of the most iconic locations that  Tarangire has to offer. Sunset Hill is the perfect locations to sit atop and enjoy the deep orange sunsets that often welcome in the starry skies. With food and drinks served by one of the Treetops staff, this is truly a magical experience not to be missed.

Bush Lunch

During a game drive through the famed Tarangire National Park there is nothing more enjoyable than arriving to a private area in the park for a delicious and relaxing luncheon.  A variety of locales are selected depending on the seaon, and of course the animals.
